Download and install Mozy, if necessary.
We have installed the free Mozy Home version and we'll use that in this tutorial, but everything here applies to Mozy Pro as well.

Download and
install
Service Protector, if necessary.
-
Start Service Protector.
-
Select Protector > Add to open the Add Protector window:
-
On the General tab, in the Service to protect field, choose the Mozy windows service, called MozyHome Backup Service (or MozyPro Backup Service, if you are using that version).
You will notice a green circle on the left if the Mozy service is already running, as was the case on our PC.
-
Click the Save button. In a few seconds, an entry for Mozy will show up in the Service Protector window.
Mozy is probably already running but it is not yet being protected by Service Protector (as shown below).
-
To start protection, choose Protector > Start "MozyHome Backup Service". In a couple of seconds the shield icon on the right will go to green to indicate that Mozy is being monitored by Service Protector:
-
That's it! Next time your computer boots, Mozy backup will start automatically and Service Protector will watch the service to quickly restart it if it stops for any reason.
We encourage you to edit Mozy in Service Protector and check out the many other settings that may be appropriate for your environment.
For example, send an email when the service fails, restart the service at a safe time every day, and much more.
